A Buddhist and Love

Down the street from my hotel in Myanmar is a gym. The owner is named Nyein Chan and his wife is Jumeyar. They run the gym daily and are very interactive with those who are training. It didn’t take long to connect with them and speak words of belief and life over them. It isn’t difficult to encourage people if you take a moment watch them. See the good they are doing and then applaud it.

I said to Nyein Chan, “You are an amazing gym owner. I see you really care about those who come and you encourage them. This is why your gym is full. Its the fact that you treat the people so well.” These words opened Nyein Chan’s heart to me and he wanted to know why I was in Myanmar. I told him about LoveDefined and invited him to come listen to one of my sessions. He agreed. He brought his family and listened while I spoke about the power of PATIENCE.

They were deeply moved and he said, “You have a really beautiful heart. I see in your tears the power and love inside you. Will you come to my home for dinner?” I replied that I would greatly appreciate dinner at their home.

Jumeyar made many traditional Burmese dishes that included seafood, beef, and chicken. During our conversation at the table, I shared a few more stories about the power of Love and how it can transform lives. Nyein Chan listened and his eyes had tears in them. The stories of how love empowers brothers to fight for each other when they are discouraged or overwhelmed really moved his heart. Even though he is Buddhist, he was deeply impacted by the love of Christ.

“I want to donate some gym equipment to the LoveDefined Discipleship School and also give each student a free gym membership”. Nyein Chan’s words were received with so much joy when the students heard them the next day. This became a huge testimony to them of how loving one person can open doors. They experienced and received an act of kindness that was the fruit of love.

The students entered the gym and most had never been inside one. A few were intimidated. We had a few trainers come and guide the students through the gym and all the equipment. This was a really exciting and powerful day for them. They saw and experienced that Love creates life and opens new doors of opportunity.

It was so amazing to see how this opened their hearts to see and experience the power of kindness. Love, expressed through words of Belief to Nyein Chan, created a response of Kindness that the students now enjoy weekly. Love creates life and opens beautiful doors.
